Glossary Item Box

Many different elements can be personalized in order to achieve maximum user satisfaction. Beside environment settings, language settings and other general settings it is also possible to customize individual user interfaces and even individual control on an user interface. Personalization of reports is also very well defined.

User interface

Each user interface can be customized. It is possible to completely alter the layout of controls on UI. Controls can also be hidden. Empty space items can be added, controls resized, groups can be created, etc. It is possible to change captions of individual section or layout control. Of course all changes do not influence business logic in any way. User can manipulate with all controls on the UI in any way he sees fit.

Grid

Grid is a control for displaying large amount of data. When large amount of data is in question some sort of a feature must be provided to group, sort, filter and basically arrange data. MX-Frame contains many very useful features to accomplish that job. Including previously mentioned functionality it is also possible to resize columns, hide columns, implement data filtering, etc. Grid appearance can be customized by displaying or hiding vertical and horizontal lines, indicators, summary, etc. It is also possible to define the behaviour of different features. For example for some users it is possible to set whether they can sort data, group data, move columns, filter data, etc.

Report Designer

Runtime report designer is a tool for designing reports in runtime environment. It offers the possibility to create a report that suits end user needs. Data can be removed or added to the report from a previously prepared data source. Report designer includes components such as zip codes, tables, pivot grids, pictures, labels, bar codes, a variety of charts, etc., which improve the graphic image and readability.

For example chart types such as point, bar, area, pie, radar, doughnut etc. not only make a report look better but also simplify data analysis. Each component available has its own set of properties for its appearance, behaviour, design, and representation of data.

With report designer end users can create attractive and content rich reports simply by clicking, dragging and rearranging components. Furthermore, the versioning system implemented in report designer enables the end user to create his own custom reporting system.

Appearance Flexibility

Appearance flexibility enables the end user to change MX-Client appearance and behaviour to meet his individual demands. This is possible with the use of end user profiles. Each profile can have its own environment settings, language settings, appearance settings and other settings, by which clients for specific users are personalized.

For example it is possible to set the default language used in the MX-Client, define the behaviour of the message viewer, define the appearance of the grid’s print preview document, change document header text as well as picture for the logo, etc. With appearance flexibility the end user gains additional possibilities to customize his work environment completely to his needs.
