Personalization directory contains different templates of a report and layouts of grid and user interface. It only contains templates and layouts for currently selected and active user interface. In personalization directory templates are grouped. They are grouped for every control that contains different templates.
Personalization Directory can be accessed in Quick Access Toolbar or through Add-Ins in application menu.
It is possible to define which user can use which layout or template. The administrator can determine which layout is the default one for individual user or a group of users. This is done in personalization management. To learn more about management see chapter Personalization.
If a user changes the template or layout the change is only done for the current session of the user interface. Once it closes and reopens the default template or layout is used.
Default
Even if a control has no template or layout specified, the default option is always available. Once several templates are available each of them can be defined as the default one. This can be done for the currently logged user.
To define the default layout or template
- In MX-Client run the desired user interface.
- Open Personalization Directory from Quick Access Toolbar or through Add-Ins in application menus.
- In Personalization Directory select the group which holds the template you wish to make the default one.
- Right click the desired template and select Set as Default.
The next time user opens this user interface the new layout or template is used to display data.
