Glossary Item Box

Individual profiles can be configured in order to even further customize Mx-Client and to optimize the work and usage for a group of users or even for individual user. It is possible to customize the appearance, behaviour, look and feel of the user interface, etc.

User interface consists of two sections; Profile and Selected Properties. Profile sections contains drop down list from which it is possible to select a previously created profile. In the list, below the combo box, groups of properties are listed. When a group is selected its properties are displayed in Selected Properties section. Individual property can then be edited in this section.

Properties

When the value of a property changes it is immediately stored in the database. Therefore the changes take effect with the next login into MX-Client. Many properties are available. All sorted to appropriate group, based on the content they cover.

Properties are located in the list in section Profile. Properties are grouped by the first character of group name. By default groups for the first three letters are displayed. To access more groups use configuration buttons at the bottom of the list.

These properties define general culture properties. Properties also define the appearance of the user interfaces and the whole MX-Client.

If property is set to False, information panel stays hidden, only the error counter in the status bar will increment.

Properties in this group are intended for providing appropriate credentials when connecting to Reporting Services Server. Reporting services reports can be imported and displayed inside MX-Client. Security account credentials, for accessing these reports, are specified here.

Custom Properties

It is possible to define custom properties for each profile. These types of properties are created with MxPropertyPage component in design time. It is possible to create any number of such properties grouped in categories. Properties can also be edited with editors such as password, bool, numeric, etc. Properties are bound to a profile. This means that they will only be used when a user, committed to the profile, is logged in MX-Client. This is just another step in total system and content customization.
