These settings are settings bind to an explicit workstation. The value of the setting will be used only for process on this machine. Workstation settings can be implemented in business logic in design time. Business logic is then evaluated with values defined for individual workstation.
Workstation settings are implemented with MxPropertyPage component in design time. It is possible to create any number of settings, which can be grouped for easier management. These properties can be used in different segments in an application. They can be used for different conditions, constraints, rules, etc.
Managing of workstation settings is very easy and quick. User interface consists of two sections; Workstation and Selected Properties.
Workstation
Workstation section contains field, in which user enters workstation name, and list of properties groups. Properties are located in the list in section Workstation. Properties are grouped by the first character of the category. By default categories for the first three letters are displayed. To access more categories use configuration buttons at the bottom of the list.
Selected Properties
Section contains all properties for the category selected in Workstation section. Properties can also be edited here. Modified value is stored immediately therefore it is used next time a user logs in.
To set a value to a workstation property
- Run MX-Client.
- Login using account with administrative privileges.
- Click application menu button and select Control Panel.
- Click Workstation in Configuration section.
- Enter workstation name in field Workstation.
- Select the desired category from the list in section Workstation.
- Enter the value for the desired property in the list in section Selected Properties.
Value is stored immediately. In order for the value to be used in the system, user must login again.
